Probably when the MY17 update comes to aus. Who knows when that will happen though, could be this year could be next, could be 2019 for all ford aus knows

Probably because people are enjoying there Mustang Sync 3 or not.
I wish mine had it, but its not something I'm going to lose sleep over.

Ford is giving in and will add Android Auto and CarPlay to its 2016 and 2017 line-up of rides that are equipped with SYNC 3, their newest infotainment system. All of its 2017 cars will arrive with Android Auto and CarPlay out of the gate (again if they have SYNC 3 on board), while its 2016 models with SYNC 3 will have the option to upgrade.

USD 1999.00 from Sync 2 to Sync 3 only if you have 8 inch screen, which we do. Not sure if it will be compatible with RHD models due to some softwares being different for Australia.

Been told at dealership that they don't expect sync 3 to hit our shores in any vehicle until end of 2017. In essence we are still on the original 2015 spec which is a year behind and backlog is being built to that specification
(I'm sure the sync 2 head unit is prob cheaper ... So any cost on volume would not be re assessed and provided as a free upgrade)
Until sync 3 is on a spec sheet - we won't see it . Oh yes and remember add a year or two to deliver the car once ordered !!!

Sick of waiting!
Just got back from the local Ford Dealer that has a GT on the floor waiting for its owner to get back from NZ. Asked the dealer to check the software and it does seem to be Sync 2, not Sync 3...
That's a real pity as I'm not hearing good things about Sync 2...
May have to try to get the hardware/software upgrade somehow, but need the car first!! :frusty:

from report i"ve had it's ok, but I suspect it will be laggy like the system in my Wife's Clais. It works but oh so slow sometimes

Sync 2 appears to be okay, no problems.
From what I have read on these forums, problems only appeared when Sync 3 was released.......me thinks because some wanted to keep up with the Jones. Some people were trying to compare the two, which is silly.
One down side to Sync 3 is that you can not upload your own pictures as wall paper. Not a deal breaker, but I believe a step backwards, sure it has improved functionality in regards to connection and apps, but really????? remove the custom wallpaper. WTF

I also saw it on the window sticker and that's why I went to check at the dealer, because the 2015 model we hired in Hawaii 6 months ago only had Sync 2...

Yes it does show on the Window sticker, Sync 3, Signature Head Lamps and Universal Garage opener too, along with a list of items which we are not going to get.
However, wait until the ETIS for the same car is updated 3-4 days after the build, you will see a long - long list of MINUS items in it, Sync3 is just one of them.
