'....SYNC 3 is already available on some models in the US, but it's expected to debut on this year's Edge SUV in the UK after its launch in the summer.'

In that case, surely we should see it on UK/European Mustangs with build dates from this Summer onwards? The delay was supposed to concern software compatibility in Europe, but they could at least install the (different spec) screens now so that they are Sync 3 'ready' when the upgrade is approved over here.

Any views?

If that's to go by, then mid 2016 Sync 3 will officially 'come' to Europe, for that Car.

The whole logistics is something to look by, by the sounds of it, Europe had '1 mustang' approved for Europe (in RHD and LHD variants), which complied to all European laws (Ie some elements of the UK mustang, wouldn't be there had they been individual). If this car is also the same - 1 Car for europe, and will hit all countries in europe, then the Mustang will probably get it in the '2017 builds' which means, probably late 2018? The 2016 builds will all run through the same Sync 2 i'd assume, no reason to change it to Sync 3 is there (Although I hope that now because this is rectified that all models will get sync 3, but that's hoping heavily).

Stop getting excited - there is still no official indication of if/when Sync 3 will come to us. The hardware is completely different.

In the US, Sync 2 is still standard on the base model, and Sync 3 is an option for the others, so Flat Rock can shove in whichever is needed.

Once Sync3 has been "europeanised" then it shouldn't take long to "cycle in" to the Euro models, but whether they do it as a "running change" or only for a new model year remains to be seen.

So don't hold your breath just yet.

There is one owner in Italy who has imported a US mustang and is having problems getting hold of the Euro nav maps for it, and the cell phone is having problems as it only seems to understand US number formats. I don't know if US military in Germany have the same issue...
