After a quick back and forth with Snow Performance, I learned that I can put a switch on the control module power line to strait up disable the system and not spray any methanol.

I'm interested in doing this because a: it's a daily driver and I don't want to use it all the time. b: Winter will come eventually and again, I won't want to spray meth with 3+ feet of snow around me (maybe, might be fun, lol...)

So - need to put a switch somewhere.

Going for looks and functionality -

https://www.amazon.com/JIANFA-drawi...&sr=8-4&keywords=car+toggle+switch+panel&th=1

(in red to match the body)

Where the Mustangs with performance package (i think) have a gauge in the middle of the dash, I just have a vent.

Pull the vent, make the hole a bit bigger and screw this in it's place.

-- any other ideas on where to place a switch ? Amazon has some A-pillar button clusters that look cool, but those are in qty of 6 and I'm not sure I have a need for 3 yet, let alone 6.

Just needs to be within arms reach.

Two thoughts:

1) The circuit that causes the unit to function is no different than any "normal" circuit. So - just like auxiliary lights or a power antenna or a snowplow or whatever - if you insert a switch in the line that provides power (or ground) you can interrupt the flow of electricity to the device. Eazy-peezy.

2) If you intend to turn it off in the winter...presumably you will want to turn it back on in the spring. But the interval of time between those two actions is thousands of hours. So why do you want the switch to be so obvious/accessible? It could be a simple toggle switch in the glove box or beneath the dash. For that matter...

You could skip the switch and just pull the fuse twice per year. That would be even simpler! (Eazy-peezier?)

There's a panel on the lower dash, to the right of and below the steering wheel, that's removable. Someone mounted their switch for 'Active' Exhaust there, and I'm doing the same.

You can just pull it with your hand, drill a hole for the switch, and mount there. Easy, peasy, and easily replaced with a new part when you sell the car.

Ideally, I'd use it when I want to have some fun, right? No need for it in the morning at 5am on my way to work. But yeah, maybe - I had a rough day at work and wanna have some fun on my way home. So while the switch is to kill it for the winter, I'd probably kill it more like 5-6 times a week, ish...

I totally forgot about that. Nice call. Maybe that's a good spot for it. Right now, I can't imagine a need for more then 1 switch; but conversely, you never know.

Not directly related... but if you got a progressive controller then it will only inject when needed. If you "dont need it at 5am on the way to work" or driving in the snow you will probably stay under the boost setpoint that it starts injecting anyway.

Also, what controller are you using? The VC-50 has an On/Off function.

Just something to think about

I dunno :( Neither snowperformance.net or american muscle lists which controller it comes with and americanmuscle.com is taking their good 'ol sweet time getting it to me (rolling on 2 weeks now since I ordered it).

In my chat with the techs at snow yesterday - they said hold down both 1 and 2 buttons - the screen will change and it'll still show boost % but injection % won't increase - basically disabling the system. Which is a good option, just a nuance more then flipping a switch. Same as flipping through drive modes every time you get in. No big deal to flip through them every time you go out to get into sport+ or track, just a PITA to have to do it every time. If I have a switch and it can be off until I choose to use it; there's lower risk of using it during in-climate weather or if I forgot to fill the reservoir or ran out and didn't order any or ...
