My dealer's been next to useless so far... not a single update or any other form of communication from them since ordering on 4th March this year, and I still haven't even signed an official order or seen any form of confirmation of the vehicle specification as they still haven't produced the damn thing (and I only know it's actually on order and correctly specced thanks to Karen & Stacey).
No discount whatsoever at the time I ordered (despite having bought 5 new cars with a combined value of over £78k from this same salesman since 2007), and a completely derisory part-exchange price (less than basic book and openly stated by the salesman as not including for any of the £5k worth of extras such as full leather, sat nav, self parking, keyless + loads more) on a car he'd sold me 18 months earlier - and then he passes the comment that my car 'is exactly the sort of used car they want on their forecourt'...
!
Like some have said... they know it's a 'sellers market' with these particular cars (as they do with the new Focus RS) so they're making the best of it.
I've got no objection to market price as it is a lot of car for the money... but the attitude they have, knowing the typical Mustang buyer wants the car regardless, is a bit obvious... and won't encourage people back when the next offering they have isn't so desirable... nor will it get them any sort of future recommendation.
I've often thought - am I expecting too much?... and the answer's no... I've bought many new cars before from a whole range of different dealers/brands, and I've never before encountered such basic, lacklustre service and what I would almost term as 'arrogance' from a dealership.
The upside of all this, from having followed so many posts on this forum, is that the car will make up for everything come the big day (every cloud has a silver lining and all that)!
