Was driving yesterday all of a sudden car is steering out of control. Left front wheel is turned about a quarter to eighth. Right wheel is perfectly straight. Enclosed is picture. Had towed to Ford dealer. They say looks lit it was hit. I say bullshit. Not one mark on my car tire, wheel or body. When tow truck but my car on dollies I think be bent my control arms, tie rod. I used Ford towing service. Enclosed are a few pictures. Dealer send to for waiting on decision.

That's bent downward. Was this a flat bed tow truck? Did the tow truck driver wench the car up by the inner tie rod?
Also it's hard to tell, but the lower control arm ball joint end cap is missing and the joint and grease look exposed.

You say this happened all of a sudden, but then you say the tow driver bent it. If you were driving and the steering pulled it's not from the tow driver. You had to of hit a pot hole or something to bend the inner tie rod and lower control arm.

considering the original issue of steering, I'd think this happened before it went on the truck?

yeah this is a weird one. I'd love to see more pics of the underside... and definitely that tie rod from other angles. And some of the wheel and tire from outside and inside.

I can't imagine how loading it on a flatbed would do that. The sudden veering and tierod damage have to be one in the same.

The lower control are ball joint and cap did come off that was the initial problem. Any ideas how that would come off. It is sheared off is has jagged edges like pot metal. The rest of the damage is due to the tow truck driver. I am claiming to Ford ball joint cap that came off is their defect. I cannot see how I could of done anything. The rest of the damage will be on the towing company, But the tow was through ford so they should help with the claim.

I still do not see how the tow guy did this.
The lift arm on the tow truck does not go beyond the front of the tire. Once the lift arm makes contact to the tire the tire lift frame goes from the back side of the front tire and is locked in place then strapped down.
Another thing is the lift arm is below the tie rod. To hit and bend the toe rod the front bumper, wheel well opening and K member would also be hit. I've been doing this for 30 years and I do not see how the tow truck has done anything but I guess anything is possible. I still say it's a pot hole or object in the road.

I'm not saying the tie rod or ball joint hit anything but the wheel/tire may have. I don't know I wasn't there. There is no way you could of hit the ball joint in a hole either because it's surrounded by the wheel.
