How does one choose which is a good value, looks great on the car and how do you choose installation location?

Do you mean hood struts? First thing I did to my car.

They all pretty much install the same way. IMO the redline ones are the most well thought out and support the hood well. The ford performance ones are lacking in how they attach and you may get hood flex when you try to close it.
