Supercharger on a convertible

I am about to bite the bullit on a SC kit. My problem is the strut tower brace that goes across the top of the plenum. If I go with a root style blower, the brace wont fit. It is my understanding that brace is standard on the convertible for additional support. For this reason, I am leaning towards a centrifugal type set up.

Is there any validity to my concerns about the strut brace?
