I installed my FRPP/Borla Catback Touring Exhaust. Since...I've noticed a stange harmonic tone every so often inside the cabin. I'm confident that I'm not confusing it with "Drone".

I don't hear it on excelleration because all I hear is the exhaust. It happenes when crusing in 4th 5th, between letting off the throttle and mild excelleration.

Just a slight hormonic hume? Almost like when you blow air into the top of a bottle. No what I mean? Anyone else experience this?

Diffidently did not notice this with my stock exhaust.

Interesting! Thanks for the imput. I was convince from other posts and vendors that this system wouldn't have "ANY" drone.

Maybe I should have just done the resornator delete and saved $1,000 bucks.

I can tell you this...I don't like it! I think I'll put the stock system back on. But before that, I'll get under there and see if as you say...maybe there's a bolt or something touching a part of the car causing the vibration.

Thanks again.

If memory serves me...another member, possibly KCTom had on the same exhaust and removed it as well.

If you think this system is bad you most likely wont like any aftermarket exhaust. My Touring is very quiet inside the car and has no drone or resonance.

You are not crazy. I heard something similar to what you are describing. It was really faint so I never mentioned it. It got progressively quieter and then went away. My guess is something was breaking in. I probably have 2000 miles on the exhaust now.

Make sure all bolts are torqued down properly. I retorqued them 3 separate times and each time they needed to be tightened.

i dont think it's exhaust related. i noticed a similar noise last week before i had my FRPP Sport installed, and it occurs only in the morning while the car is still cold and while decelerating in a low gear. it does not happen all the time either, and when it does, you wont hear it again for the rest of the day.

probably drivetrain related, somewhere in the driveshafts/transmission and probably because the car is just breaking in.

Thanks for the reply. The install instructions said torque to 35 lbs. That seemed so low to me because of the expansion, contraction and vibration these pipes would be doing due to high heat. Heck, I put the lid on the peanut butter jar tighter than that:)

So...I didn't even use the torque wrench, I used my impact wrench, you know the old jubili twist. I just didn't want to have to get back under there and have to keep re-torquing.

Do you think it's possible to over tighten the bolts? Could that be an issue?
