When I first got my car driving it was a bit difficult (and I have driven manuals most of my life). There was just something about it. Got the car tunes and it was MUCH easier to drive. Better idle, better throttle response...I could then control what I was doing.

So moral of story is with my basic bolt ons I shouldn't have to touch the clutch?

Glad to hear this. I drove a stick in high school before driving an automatic through college and a little after. Sometimes driving my mustang I feel like I used to be a whole lot better at driving a standard. Especially going from 1-2. Feel like I have to try too much to keep it smooth. Could be the rev hang. Glad to know if/when I tune it that it might help.

I think getting rid of the rev hang helps a lot. What I do is to slow the hand motion just a tiny bit or let go the throttle just a wee bit sooner, helps a lot to synchronize and smooth the dreaded 1-2 "jolt".

Then I got the BG trans fluid. The jolt is still there, but it's like 75% gone, and with some technique, it's all smooth.

I asked the local dealer and they said if I swapped fluid could potentially void warranty

Having owned my manual for 9 months i wish I went with an auto. Can't stand this tranny. Just go with the Tremec and charge more Ford. I am 90% sure I will be going with an 18' 10 speed.

A lot of people are unhappy that's why I went auto on the 15. Honestly if there was no grabber blue I would wait for the 18 how ever there aren't any options I have to have on the 18 . So rather get the color I want and be done.

The auto is fast as hell when tuned but the Manual feels more torquey

This is my 1st manual and it's now second nature for me. I almost switched to an auto last second because I was worried I would hate driving a manual everyday, but I'm glad I didn't. You'll be thinking a lot about everything you feet and hands are doing in the beginning, but in a couple weeks it will start to feel normal.

The only time I have to put in a little extra thought compared to driving an auto is the 1-2 shift when the engine/transmission is still cold. Since I never drove a car with a nice german transmission, I don't mind the mt82 at all.

Also, either remove the clutch assist spring or replace it with the one from Steeda. It makes it much easier to feel the engagement point and results in much smoother driving.

BG works with Ford I believe so their synchro shift won't void the warranty, even if you drained out and put back to stock fluid after break in it would make a difference I'm sure if thats the route you'd wanna take for warranty purposes. Break in fluid always gets contaminated quickly

THIS!! I've driven manuals for 40yrs and had a hell of time w/first gear in this thing... took that spring out and never looked back. Feels like a real clutch and plants you in the car. I've got LT's and tune on the car for over 10K now (a hard 10K ;))...stock clutch holding up just fine....

So what does adding the steeda spring change opposed to just removing it completely?

The steeda spring will make the pedal feel a bit more soft or easier to push compared to no spring. But the steeda is much more stiff in pedal feel than stock. I had the steeda and switched back to stock because i didn't like the tiny bit of play in the pedal when released. I was worried about clutch wear. With the stock back in there is no play in the pedal at top.

you shouldn't need to change the gear oil. Just slow the shifts when the transmission is cold, particularly 1st to 2nd.

stock clutch should be fine. It is V8 with a single disc clutch so there isn't a lot of margin. The 2018 is suppose to ship with a bit more power and a twin disc, so that's something to consider. If you can get a deal on a 2017, the savings would cover an aftermarket twin disc.
