Stock downpipe....just an fyi

Friend of mine at the dealer mentioned there's been a few stock down pipes with mounting tab failures on higher mileage 2015's. Not enough for a recall or TSB but enough to notice that it's something to keep an eye on. So far there's no 2016-17 that have come in.....yet

And if your having a an intermittent exhaust leak but can't find it to the check around the cat

Kinda hoping mine fails so they can install an aftermarket one free of charge

This happened to me. The dealership denied my claim cause where the welds broke and the bracket fell of they said "it looks like someone knocked it off and cut the welds". They also told me to turn it into my insurance. I hate stealerships

I took it to a new one last week and they are making me bring it back in next week when they have the downpipe so they can compare them

My stock down-pipe looks fine, though it's a bit dusty from sitting in the basement the last year and a half.:lol:

Seriously though nothing impresses me about that pipe, the shape of the cat or the quality of the welds. The only high quality part i can see is the oval flex joint which is restrictive as hell.

Are you by chance trying to give a fellow mustang owner the DP if the dealer won't cover it lol. There's no way in hell im paying the 695$ price tag they put on it.
