Seriously though, when I installed my AEM filter I pulled mine out, I had seen some people indicate they measured slightly better flow without it.

So now my intake "system" consists of a Velossa intake behind a completely opened OEM grill duct, an AEM filter, carbon filters removed from OEM airbox, and a Mishimoto intake tube (that also removes all the OEM sound tube mess).

What did you use to seal the hole from removing the resonator on the actual bottom of air box housing .

i know some people use a dorman master cylinder rubber cap ..i found a valve cover breather cap block off at pepboys. was chrome i painted it black to match everything and you cant even tell it was there .

the res on the inlet tube i used a hard plastic cap that fit in the whole and used 5 min quick set 3m epoxy from work and its working like a charm

There's no sensors on it, and it's just for vapor recovery when the engine is off. There's no indicator that it's gone other than looking for it. The emissions test center isn't going to do that if they see a stock box, nor would it have any affect on in-test emissions (if you're in one of those states that actually does tailpipe emissions).

Well..understood..but im just leaving it there till my warranty expires. Be my luck im in for service and its found to be missing and they use the tampering clause to deny warranty work..

I dynoed before and after removing the carbon pads, picked up 40HP ...

I actually want out and bought another top of the air box from Levitttown Ford. When you buy it, it is shipped without the carbon foam pad. This way, you don’t have to pull it off and it appears stock from the outside.

Slightly more sound coming through the sound tube and possibly, slightly more exhaust and throttle response. Definitely worth the few bucks I paid for the replacement.
