Steering wheel button issues.

I need some direction if anyone can help. 2015 mustang gt premium 401A car manual. Volume and call buttons do not work on the steering wheel. Menu and cruise control buttons work normally but recently the menu buttons have started to intermittently not work correctly, example, up arrow actually triggers the center "select" button instead of the up arrow. I recently bought new steering wheel controls and swapped those, still continue to have the same issue. Thought maybe it'd be the harness but I replaced that and have the same issue still. Any and all guidance would be great. Would a faulty clock spring do this? Or do I need to chase a wire down somewhere else?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and let the components reset?

Also when batteries are not good they also tend to mess up electronics, so mabey your battery needs to be checked

Yeah went through that as well. No battery issues. Connections are clean and good.

Poked around the forum and I read that culprits could be , the installation, wires are pinched , connectors are not in and a TSB

Just in case anyone ever runs into this. Buttons intermittently working, cruise control randomly shutting off. Etc. it was the clock spring. Fixed and no issues since.
