Steering wheel button controlled Android MP3 player

I have a Samsung S22 ultra and am wondering if there is an Android app to play mp3s where the track forwarding, rewinding can be done via the buttons on the steering wheel. I tried a few and only volume/mute works - but that has nothing to do with the phone.

Would welcome any suggestions where you got it to work

I use Spotify and all steering wheel controls work for forwarding to next track or reverse to previous.
