First problem just happened. On my way home making a left turn the steering locked. Not fully, there was a friction/pop... sort a short grind and then it seemed fine. Every right turn it happens now. When parked I turn it right left, it always seems to happen once then it's ok until the car moves. A couple time I think I might have heard a rattle like there's something loose and moving.

I'm not sure if this is related to the suspension on steering. Not only can I feel it but it audible also.

Going straight or right turns there's no issue.

I went by the dealership but they were closed and they're closed Sunday so I'll have to take it in on Monday.

Weird you mention this...I think I had a similar event two nights, but it has been below freezing so I had assumed the wheel had ice...at least the 1st time I though this. I will need to look deeper tomorrow at this. If I come up with anything ill update this post.

Was it constant? Once it happened with mine, it was every left turn for the 30 minute drive home. I don't think mine is related to cold.

That's probably an electric power steering module issue. I had one on my S197; they replaced it under warranty.

No not constant...pulled out of driveway, hard left (I was backed in), made popping sound for 5-10 feet and stopped. That's why I assumed it was ice on rotor. Heading out shortly to see if I can re-produce.

Please let us know what the dealer service center finds. Thanks

I have had a popping sound when I have the wheel turned all the way going parking lot speed. Not sure if it was worth getting looked at?

I think you should get it checked. It could be nothing but if it isn't you don't want something more serious

Couldn't re-produce today, but I will keep an eye and bring to dealer if it happens again and update if I have any meaningful data.

Update (strange) - So I didn't drive the car at all on Sunday. This morning I go to the dealer and it's cracking, grinding physically and audible on every left turn. I get to the dealer and we take it for a test drive at the first left turn the guy gears and feels it and says "that's enough, let's get back"... it's that obvious.

I just called and the update is they raised it, looked around, tested a few areas and found nothing. Lowed it took it for a test drive and everything seems fine.

It was so obvious I don't understand how it could just go away.

Is it possible that the car kicked up a stone or something that got stuck and fell out when the car was raised?

I'm at a loss.

Just picked up my car and drove 60klm to work. It's strange, they didn't do anything but the car is fine. 4 people at the dealership heard the problem they couldn't find anything and when test drove it after lowering it the problem was gone.

The only possible thing I can think of is something like a little stone got kicked up and stuck somewhere in the suspension. When they raised it and the wheels dropped it must have fallen out.

Weirdest car issue I've had.

I went to back up and cut hard to the left and the wheel snatched away from me and I immediately lost all power steering, hill decent, stability track, and traction control. Powering the car off and restarting restored the electronics but repeating the hard cut to the left knocks them back out again. It only does it when turning to the left. Turning hard to the right yields nothing. I have less than 1300 miles on it. 2015 mustang GT premium automatic.

symptoms are different but I wonder if it's something related. My car's been fine since I picked it up but I'll report if anything comes up. If you can repeat it I'd take it to the dealer and show them

This is EXACTLY what happened to me in my 2011. Happened every time I cut the wheel all the way while reversing. Idiot lights came on for Traction Control and Stability Control and lost power steering. Was a pretty common occurance since I parallel park every day. Restarting the car would reset everything. At first it was only occassional and the dealer gave me a "could not duplicate" when I took it in, but after two months or so it happenned every time and they got the problem too during testing. They replaced the power steering module under warranty and that completely fixed the problem.
