Loving the stance! Thanks so much for sharing!I have had these on my car for a month now and I am glad I went with the Ultralite Linear springs they are nice and stiff perfect for what I am looking to do with the car. The car feels more planted while in turns, less body roll, and less nose dive when applying the brakes.
We take customer service very seriously over here! :cheers:Not to mention the great customer service, I got a hand written thank you letter from the rep I spoke with! I was truly impressed...
First off, thanks to David at Steeda for his advice and help on this purchase! I ordered on a Wednesday night and they arrived on Saturday afternoon with the regular shipping option. (I'm in Texas, for reference.)
I decided to wait a little while till I've had time to drive the car and really shake it down a bit before giving honeymoon impressions.
First off, I think the drop ends up being perfect with my wheel/tire setup. I went with the 1.25F/1R option, and with 305/35/19R, 275/35/19 PSS...there's not a ton of room left there, but even under hard driving, I've not seen any evidence of rubbing.
Install was fairly straight forward. Done in my garage with jacks/jack stands, taking our time, and with a frozen on rotor (weird), it ended up being about a 3 hour job. Dropping the rear subframe helps immensely to free up getting the rear springs in.
Steeda doesn't have anything on the instructions regarding cutting the bump stops, so we didn't...but after reading others recommend it, may go back in and do that at some point out of sheer anal retentiveness, as I don't feel any negative driving/handling characteristics with them left stock, as of now.
As for the ride quality - they're linear, so there's a certain amount of tight response they induce that's simply not there with stock springs. (I've got the Performance Pack, for reference.). It definitely makes the car more snappy, more planted to the road, and much more composed around turns. Squat/Roll is greatly reduced, up to roughly .9G, which is the highest I've gotten it since install.
This is my daily, too, and there's nothing that I would consider uncomfortable or off putting about the feel of the springs, whatsoever. I do think a nice set of upgraded shocks would be a good idea, but haven't seen options I've find of yet to replace with, and might end up skipping entirely straight to Coilovers. But, these springs are a great upgrade and have definitely reduced my want/urgency for COs exponentially. It made the car feel that much more a true sports car, which I suppose I expected off the lot, originally. Steeda came in and offered a fantastic, affordable, quality product to remedy Ford's shortcoming. And they make the car look that much better, too. Win-Win!
Thanks again, Steeda!
