Thanks Todd, I'm curious to see how it works out. I don't know if it's just the width plus the fat rubber making issues or what the deal is with it. I'm not sure if they were running out of adjustment or just not wanting to continue to screw with it. For as little as I drive it I'll just see how this works for a few months then put on some more parts and go back and only have them mess with the rear.

Hey buddy. I just talked to the Ford tech that will do my alignment. I shared your entire wheel/tire setup and your alignment sheet with him.

This is what he replied with. Maybe this will help a bit?

First off that is an absurd amount of camber in both front and rear. I can kind of understand the front needing it if it rubs, but that rear is crazy. Overall it doesn't have near enough toe in it for the tires to wear right. I'd bump the front to a +.25 total and the rear to at least a +.30 total. Making a number "green" on an alignment doesn't necessarily mean its going to work right.

I was hoping to get it closer to -2 than this but I was watching them struggle with the rear and trying to get it within spec. The Service Manager was like man, there's just nothing to really get a hold of back there to help move it.
I went through the same situation during my first alignment. I showed the tech who did it which bolt to loosen for adjustment. Due to the weight of the car, the bolt moved within the slot and the camber shot out to -3 degrees. We then had to use a pry bar to push the camber arm out to get it within spec. I had to hold the bar while he torqued everything down. It's a pain but it's doable. Currently I am running -1.75 degrees in the rear.

Are you lowered with aftermarket wheels and tires? Just curious.

not sure I would call it absurd lol. OE front camber is -1. The rear is a little nuts right now though. I had to waste nearly a half a day at the dealer so I'll probably just drive it the way it is for a little while so I can actually enjoy the car but will definitely be revisiting this to get it more in spec out back.

I'm pretty happy with the front, if I don't get any rubbing up front when I readjust the rear I might push it back to -1 and see what happens. Wouldn't adding more toe make the tires scrub more and wear worse?

Stock wheels and tires.
I think it's hard to compare the stock wheel and tire setup aligned vs something like this, there's a lot that changes. I tried to let them let me back in the shop but they wouldn't do it. Otherwise I would probably have been under there myself with a pry bar :headbang:

Hi there

I did not like how the ultralites sat a little low in the rear so I added some 8mm spring pad spacers which got the stance perfect:

Gibbo205 where did you get the 8mm pads from? You have a link?

Ebay.

I did a thread in this section with all details, do a search for spring pad spacer under my name it should bring it up.

But you just need E36/E46 BMW pad spacers in 6mm or 8mm, I went 8mm and when they arrive increase the inner diameter to 3.25" and then put them between spring isolator and cars body at top. :)
