Steeda Toe Link question

I got a pair of the Steeda Toe links for my 2015. Have any of you installed these toe links yourself and not had an alinement done. After my car had the lowering springs installed, the rear tires were aligned and good to go. Now hear me out before you called me a moron. I'm thinking, if I align the holes of the factory toe links and the steeda toe links, why would I need to have a rear end alinement? Any professional feedback would be appreciated.

Im not trying to be cheap, but every shop I've called for a rear end alignment is trying to tell me the process takes between an hour to two costing almost 200. My thoughts are if they are already installed, all they are doing is making an adjustment; it is not going to take two hours. The suspension shop installed my lowering springs, sway bars front and back in two and a half hours.

I guess I will play.

Here is the deal. if the cradle is not PERFECTLY centered...and the eccentric washers/bolts are not PERFECTLY centered (which these rarely occur) then setting the toe rod links to the same length as OEM won't really do anything for you. It will not ensure the toe settings are set the same as they were.

Now....what you CAN do is, you can measure (very precisely and carefully) a fixed point from the Inner Toe Mount on the cradle...to the outer toe mount on the knuckle before removing the toe links....and install the new parts and make that measurement exactly the same.

The OEM Toe Links are a fixed length. Their "effective" length is given by the slot in the inner IRS Cradle Mount. So, setting aftermarket pieces to the same length does not ensure the alignment stays the same.

Kelly gave you a good tip.

I would have it aligned (or do it myself), but that's me.

Oh and every alignment shop should be doing 4 wheel toe alignments by default. I've seen one ad from a corner garage that offered a $30 front-end alignment only. Almost every car on the road requires a 4 wheel alignment to do it right. It is standard almost everywhere these days.

My local Belle Tire has a good Hunter alignment machine and charges $80 and they always have $20 coupons. Takes them about an hour, but I'd be surprised if the actual work takes any longer than 20 minutes.

You may have to pay extra for camber/caster adjustment (if adjustable).
