Just bought a set of used steeda progressive springs already mounted to the front struts. Should be a simple bolt in and out on the front. However, on one of the front struts the end of the spring on the bottom is sitting past the rubber stop.

To better explain: the bottom part of he strut has a rubber isolator with a raised stop on it that the end of the spring should sit flush with but on mine the spring has worked its way past that and is sitting a bit beyond the rubber stop.

I’ve heard mounting the spring to the strut is a pain in the ass. Should I fix this before installing? Will it cause any issues? I’d have to either buy or rent a spring compressor.

I can only imagine the previous guy was driving around like that with no problems.
