Steeda H-Pipe length 15-17 vs 18 & up

I picked up a new Steeda H-Pipe from someone who didn't install it on their car. However, it is for a 15-17 and it is 38" in length...I have a 2018 which uses basically the same H-Pipe but shorter in length, 32" according to Steeda's website. Before I get the chop saw out and start cutting, I just want to confirm that all I need to do is remove 6" from the rear of the H-Pipe to bring it to the proper length for the 18 & up models. Anyone had any experience with this?

I got the 15-17 version for a killer price is why I was asking this question. Anyway, trimmed 6” off the rear section of the h-pipe and install went without issues. Love that exhaust note!

You'll need to expand the pipe after cutting, so that itll fit over the factory pipes going out towards the axle

With the wide band clamps provided, you just butt the h pipe ends to your stock exhaust pipe and tighten to 50-55ft lbs. This is same way factory resonator mounts at the front on the down pipes. Strange to me but it works.

My my19 resonator fits into the pipes coming from the cats. The pipes are narrowed down to fit in. Not sure why your ones are butted up.

I have a 20GT. The pipe narrows down to 2.25 but slides into what is actually a butt connection to the CAT. Perhaps you didn't realize it was actually a butt connection?
