Oh sh*t, I now see the IRS support braces that I didn't notice before. I didn't count the spacer that was mentioned earlier. Do I get a going away gift for second place? Like a mouse trap, a toilet brush. or a fly swatter?
ABSOLUTELY! Just go down to K-Mart and when you get to the register tell them it's ok, you won it.

:lol:Ha, yeah, I'll give that a try, and I'll tell you what kind of look I got from the cashiers face when I tell her. Now that it stopped snowing, maybe I can make it there. :D

Here they wouldn't take you serious unless you went in your pajamas with slippers. We didn't get the 18" of snow they were calling for here, we only got 6", just finished clearing the driveway. How much did you guys get up there?

Oh yes, the K Mart/Walmart attire. We got a little over 12" or so and getting real windy. But anyway, I have all those items on your list except for the 1/8" spacer, I have Steeda adjustable Pro-Actions, but aren't installed yet. This stuff together DOES make a h*ll of a difference all together as you said, much tighter.

Now you just need pro actions, camber arm, LCA, and brake lines to "complete the picture",

You know it! I'm actually thinking about all of those things, just kind of slow to move.

I heard what you, wildcatgoal and others have said about the LCA bearings. It really sounds like I just need to do this but is it just about wheel hop? Because I already have that controlled with my other Steeda goodies. I guess the 2 things holding me back was really a good understanding of what it was doing vs stock and probably more importantly the install. I like to install my own parts when I can but I heard so many talk about how difficult the install is. I don't have a press and this is my daily driver. Any encouragement from those that have done it?

That camber arm! At first I was looking at the adjustable. My alignment guy really convinced me aligning the rear camber was very difficult. After talking to SteedaTech, I'm convinced I need to find another alignment shop. He said there's plenty of room to adjust it to -1.5 where I want it. Plus, I just REALLY like that way that fixed arm is designed!

Brake lines LOL! Every time I pull my wheels off or climb under the car, those are the first things I see. I know I need to do this also. The 2 things holding me back on this is I haven't looked into good braided steel lines for the S550 yet and not sure which to go with. I'm very picky with them. I've bought lines in the past that didn't have all the stock mounting points and stuff, even some that didn't come with all the parts like the crush washers so I'm not sure which are the good ones. The other thing is I SUCK at bleeding brakes! I've tried it a few times over my many years and never did well. I can never get all the air out, they're always a little mushy when I'm done.

You got it! Was it a guess or did you see them all? Some are hard to spot unless you know what you're looking for.

counted...I have most but was able to see the parts on my wish list:cheers:

Well, great eye! Some of those were difficult to see like the spring spacers and the endlinks.

Like you, I also like to work on my car but the LCA bearings appear to be almost impossible for a DIY project with hand tools. Maybe someone can share his successful/unsuccessful attempt?

You can use hand tools. Only tool you'll need that you probably don't have is a 1/2" torque wrench and a 1/2" drive 24mm (I think it is?) swivel socket. I describe this in my build log.

I really like your build log and it is encouraging. I already have a 1/2" 250 ft.lb torque wrench, breaking bar and most of the sockets. I don't have the swivel socket though if it's a must.

Do you think the LCA bearings are worth doring for pure DD and spirited driving? I don't track my cars.

They aren't necessary for the street/spirited driving, no. They will be a leap forward in your car's handling and, especially, driver confidence. You will want to get the Steeda shock mounts if you do an LCA bearing. But, that said, I wouldn't feel the need, especially immediately, to go any farther than better dampers (you have those), springs (you have those), and the Steeda IRS centering pins and the IRS mount bushing supports (I think you have those) if it's just a street car.

Yes, I already have the shock mount and all other stuff you mentioned plus the Steeda rear subframe brace. I feel all these parts made a noticable difference in handling and ride quality in the first a few days after installation. But after I quickly get used to the new characteristics in a few days, I kinda forget how much improvement I have already achieved so far and start to look for the next thing.

I am only looking for modifications with minimal sacrifice in comfort and NVH (or improve comfort/NVH without sacrificing handling). I guess I need to stop somewhere before going too far.

I've got all those tools, the part i was worried about was getting the bearing in. What about you terryz?
