Steeda clutch assist spring - HELP

I put the assist spring in when not clutch depressed to the floor. I could not get it in the other way. It does not appear it will hurt the clutch. PLEASE CONFIRM if you know about this.

I don't remember having my clutch to the floor when I put mine in. It's been in a year and no issues.
