Steeda Air Filter Question

I just installed the CAI I got and when I went to assemble the actual cone air filter it seemed dry.
I have used a few of these type of filters and they were pre oiled, you could tell the minute you handled them.
Any body else think theirs felt dry?

Not all cones are oiled. Some are dry.

With some, the filters color comes from the oil, some are actually colored.

From what I've read about the Steeda CAI it's an oil type.
I have used green and red air filter oils and they all feel oily after sprayed.
This new Steeda filter feels dry as if it wasn't oiled.
I found no written info in the kit.
Weekend install or I would call Steeda.

While we're on the subject of the steeda intake filter. Can anyone recommend a spare filter? Tried looking and couldn't find anything with the exception of the one on steeda's site.

It looks like the replacement filter is a S&B -R1242.

I did not oil mine and it has been in for a month or so. I know they have a new large surface area high-flow nano-fiber air filter.

I know some filters can be run dry or oiled. I say don't oil and call them Monday. They Will answer their phone. Whoever answers will be able to help you.
