Steam from vent?

So today I have steam coming from the vents and now no aircon, aircon was so called all fixed back in May when it was regased and some bits replaced

What do we think is it a dash out this time?

Unlikely to be steam it is most likely the actual refrigerant leaking, and yes if it is coming out of the vents then most likely the evaporator unit has failed so yes it will be dash out to replace.

I have not heard of any dashboards being replaced when other evaporator units have been replaced ?

ahh the good old ambiguity of english he means the driver will make a dash out of the car door if its refrigerant leaking so they don't get poisoned its inferred but not implicitly stated by the play on words same word different meanings. I hate this language some times.

Refrigerant for sure.

Same thing happened to mine when the evaporator failed.

On a positive note, so many have failed over here that the dealers have become exceptionally skilled at removing/replacing the dash.

You would never know that mine had been touched.
