Earl, that is the one I got from Kevin. Have you checked out his gear design for the DCT dial I have been working with him on? While I like it, not sure how well it goes with the interior. Haven't decided if I will go with a black dial or a red one to match the red Mustang Power Button.

I like the gear collector with the chassis number.

I take it this is the same guy you mentioned before when trying to get a better DCT dial? As for the gear version, while I like it better, I sure would rather have that ebony black GT4 dial.

So, does he make that start button caps and if so, link pretty please? Or are we still waiting for him to bring them to market?

Yes he is the same guy I am working with for the DCT dial. Here is the link to the "POWER" cap. They are available and expensive.

So, I'll keep an eye on them to see if they can get away from their theme of "fighter jets." (Dude, they're just "fighters." or "jets," not both. But I digress.. :-)

I just asked Kevin about the custom engraving on that button, waiting for him to get back to me. Also he said he wanted to make that Helical gear dial because the DCT uses Helical gears extensively inside and thought it would be cool. I told him while it was cool and some people may like it, I think more people are interested in a version similar to the GT dial (which I have told him before).

Kevin said it’s quite a lot of work to make a custom one. He’s done a few but they were quite expensive. I’m happy with the POWER one. He said if he got quite a few requests for custom ones it might be worth while. By the way, he’s working on a GT version of an overlay for our DCT dial. Told him that might be the most popular style he sells. I know I want one.

Things go out of hand when the design needs work and I have to recreate it from scratch.

There are different "Jets" and some are more awesome than their counterparts so I have to make the distinction.

Very funny Kevin. I think most of us are waiting to see what you come up with on your Ford GT designed DCT dial. By the way, is the button design below something you have made for someone before or was it just a prototype you sent me?

5Spurs: I won't belabor the point, I was only letting you know how aviators describe them. And yes, to one of us, an F-14 is a "fighter" and a "jet" but again, not both, only in games and comic books.

I should also mention that the North American P-51 Mustang you included is not a "jet" by any definition but it most certainly qualified as a "fighter."

Meanwhile, are you and Mark implying that you can fabricate a replacement button out of aluminum, not just a decal? If so, (and if it won't require a King's ransom,) I'm interested. <grin>
