Hi guys,
so i got my stanginator today.
my car will arrive in 2 weeks or so :) (2016)
i got the instruction sheet with it, but was wondering.
have anyone ever took a video or pictures on how to install it on the EB?
i have been searching online like crazy but find VERY LITTLE information on the stanginator at all...

just wondering,
how hard it was and what are the proper steps without breaking anything :)
thanks.

No need for a video - you just remove the radiator cover, reach down and break off the tabs of the oem emblem and it comes right out. Then you just pop in the new one. I used 3m tape and didn't bother with the nuts.

You don't have to break off the tabs. I was able to push mine out and removed the pony intact.

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but this is exactly what I want to do: remove the stock emblem without breaking the tabs off. Rickycardo how did you do it, simply by applying pressure at each tab simultaneously?

It seems that it is absolutely possible to remove the front pony emblem without breaking a single tab! Thanks Rickycardo

Sure. What I did is explained below, after following the detailed instructions that Rickycardo sent me:

After removing the radiator cover, simply reach for the tabs behind the grille that retain the pony in place. My Mustang is a 2017 EcoBoost and I have very easy access to the back of the grille after removing the radiator cover (maybe because there are no Active Grille Shutters in my European Mustang). Using your fingers (or the back of a small screwdriver or any other tool with a flat head) push the tabs back out, pushing each tab a little bit at a time. Do the same to all tabs. Take small steps each time, don't rush, you have to be patient. It seems that the tabs are tapered, so the more you push them out the easier it becomes.

I took my front pony emblem out already, it took about 10 minutes to do it.

For those who haven't done it yet, the picture below shows the 4 tabs that retain the pony in place:

Now you can put a new emblem on your grille and keep the original one as well, in case you want to put it back on or even sell it! :headbang:

I will post pictures after I install the Stanginator in a few days.

Glad this worked for you. I changed mine out 2 years ago and was a bit worried Ford had changed the design since.
By the way I gave some bad info in my PM. the nuts that hold the Stanginator on are #8-80, not #4-40. I checked the bag I purchased for the size.
Also I had mentioned the Stanginator emblem is flat on the bottom but the grill has a little curve to it so the emblem doesn't fit completely flush. I used a little bit of 2-sided tape to act as a cushion under the emblem. I have heard of people tightening the nuts too tight and breaking the tail piece off.
I use double sided tape then just snug the nuts and I bought extra nuts (#8-80) to double-nut them. This locked the nuts onto the studs and keeps them from working loose. Enjoy.

Rickycardo you helped a lot - thanks

Just installed the Stanginator. I had to use a drill in order to widen the holes where the previous pony was sitting, because the studs on the Stanginator were a bit wider and slightly miss-placed. Other than that, all good. I show two pictures with different lighting conditions :headbang:
