Hi all,
my 2020 Bullitt runs well, but has anyone just had a Stage 1 remap carried out?
If you have, were there any gains in low down torque and was there a gain in BHP.
Did it have any effect on driveability?
Cheers
Pat

A software upgrade of the ECU.

You won’t gain pub numbers, mine, although not a Bullitt, just feels a little more eager, better throttle response and a bit more mid range torque, nothing earth shattering but worth doing imo

If you want more control over throttle feel, consider installing a throttle controller. I have a Soler Performance TC on on my 2019 Bullitt (which is also custom tuned too) and it gives a wide range of adjustability at the touch of the buttons on the LCD screen or via bluetooth if you wish.

If you‘re looking to maximize performance, consider a custom tune.

What does the ecu software update do, is this on top of a normal tune ?
Software update is a ‘tune’ Tune is the U.S. term for a remap.

Isn't a tune just a configuration file that is run by the ecu as opposed to a software update of the ecu itself ?

And what's a stage 1 ?

Thanks for that. I understand the numbers won't change much, but better throttle response and mid range torque is what I am after.

Stage 1 is (from what I remember back in the MaxPower days) generally the first stage modifications. So for example stage 1 might be an airfilter replacement and an exhaust. Stage 2 would include headers and engine components. Stage 3 would probably include forced induction.
This is a rough approximation btw.

no, a tune is a remap, op was talking about a software upgrade (remap for power)
, not an update :like:

the stage 1/2/3 stuff is just garbage imo, like pub bhp figures, oh, my car’s stage 111.7 lol
It’s basically how many steps taken for power, remap, remap with filter and exhaust, forced induction, carbon under crackers etc etc etc

I've heard it mentioned but not for a very long time. Most people on here just refer to FBO or full bolt on for CAI, TB, IM, LTH (cold air intake, throttle body, intake manifold, long tube headers) and exhaust

Yeah I've not heard it for a long time either, and never since I moved to this side of the pond.

A tune isn't a software update or upgrade like you do with your Sync system, a tune is more of a configuration change. The tune contains all new tables or maps that the ecu uses by taking input data and looking at the table to get an output. The term remap is the data in these tables being remapped to the new values set by your tuner.
