Has anyone put SS brake lines on their GT W/Brembos yet? I see steeda has some that says fits "All". I'm hoping this helps alittle with weak brakes on the car.

If you have weak brakes on at GT with Brembos you have an issue with your car. Every review of the GT and from my own experience with mine is they have very early brake feel and little pressure required to get full capability.

On many other platforms SS lines are inferior to the construction of a lot of rubber looking OEM lines (which are not just rubber lines).

I'd research a lot more before attempting to replace the OEM lines.

That's way I'm asking, before I buy. If you look at the brake lines Ford added a extra hose over the brake line to help with the lines expanding.
The brakes are mostly getting weak due to heat, and I could go with a more aggressive pad. But the pedal gets weak after 3 laps or so, and the soft pedal doesn't give me much confidents coming into a turn at 100+. I'm just hoping a SS line would not be subject to heat and heavy braking. I've seen brake temps around 850-1000 degrees.

Sounds like you need some better brake fluid.

I run the 6 piston brembos with torque fluid, I have it in stock as well.

You won't have any issues after swapping to this stuff.

Yeah I've heard good things about it. I'm not a big fan of the Motul 600 or 660 I've tried so far. I'm now running Type 200. What are the wet and boiling points of the Torque?

UPDATE: Called Cortex racing and they suggest "Goodridge" lines. They come with the upgraded Ford racing brake kit and is what they use on the s550 race cars. So I have some on they way. I'll report back once I have a chance to play with them.

For all those saying stock rubber lines are ok, guess you've never had a brake failure at the track...

I've got my upgraded ones sitting around, but no trackdays til next spring, so no rush for me.

You would need 2-3 500ml bottles.

Dry 683 °F (361.8° C)
Wet 439° F (226.1° C)

How old were the lines out of curiosity?

Have you verified that the OEM lines are rubber?

Some OEMs are using kevlar reinforced lines that appear to be basic rubber lines, but they actually distend less under pressure than SS lines.

It's possible Ford is using cheap lines since that seems to be their game. More so likely if you already had a failure with the S550.

Old lines were 4 years old on that car, leaked where the fittings pinched them and eventually failed there as a bubble. Failure was on a GT40 Kit car.

A good "SS" line is a kevlar reinforced rubber line wrapped in SS braiding. I would rather have that last bit of insurance as I am really really hard on the brakes to begin with at the track. In any actual race 90% of my overtakes are just in the brake zones.

S550, pretty sure they are reinforced rubber, but I won't bet my life on them at the track when bean counters are involved.
