After reading a lot of people complaining about how hard it is to clean the black PP wheels I was wondering if anyone used a quick detailing spray wax after cleaning them. I have been using Mequiar's Ultimate Quik Wax on the uncoated aluminum wheels of my '91 Jeep YJ for almost 4 years and they clean up easily and look like new.

Has anyone tried this or have a good solution besides replacing the wheels. I really like them.

I treated mine with Adam's H2O Guard & Gloss and they stay pretty clean and the brake dust rinses off very easily.

I think I counted 20 openings per wheel to wipe down, not including the surface. Cleaning my wheels after washing the car would take an additional 5-10 minutes. With my 7 spoke Project 6GR wheels, it takes me 5 minutes to wipe down all 4 now.

Not to mention that I cut about 30lbs of weight off the car.

Ive used the wax-as-u-dry products meant to be on a wet car and then chamoised though I rarely find I want to get that level of detailing when clean and dry are more than enough. for me.

I use Turtle Wax Ice spray detail...Works fine....Doesn't seem to bother the brake rotors either (I try to use sparingly though, just mist on and wipe off). The brake dust just wipes right off. The wheels just have so many openings to clean.
