Hey guys. I was considering going with the handling package spoiler or the GTC-200 spoiler from APR. Being the engineer I am I figured I'd get the more versatile.

I quickly threw together this graph. Shows that the HP spoiler is much better at downforce than the GTC-200. So that's what Ill be ending up with; also APR says new holes need drilled for their wing as it doesn't share the same bolt holes so that was also a deciding factor.

P.S. I could only find the two down force variables for the HP spoiler from Herrod Performance so I don't know how accurate they are.

Enjoy,

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. The flip side of applying this info is that until I head to the track with my Mach 1, I'm sticking with the non-HP spoiler so I'm not dragging that wing thru the air stream without positive effect.

The other question now is how much down force just becomes drag that slows you down? Presumably it depends on the track, high speed turns, slow speed turns, big long straights…?

^ The GTC-200 actually has all that data on ARP's website. For the HP your guess is as good as mine.

Remember that the car is balanced. So if you have the HP and do not put the Gurney on, you'll have oversteer at 120+ mph. or if you have the HP spoiler but take off the front lower splitter, youll have understeer at high speeds (especially if the gurney is still on).

granted, under high speeds, below 80, fairly low impact if any measurable. Just saying that if you intend to break triple digits, do both front and rear, or neither. not just one.
