Speedo Needle as shift light?

This feature is not new. It was present on my 2012 Premium Mustang 5.0 (non-Brembo). It wasn't really of utility, as it was right at fuel-cutoff rpm — or too close — to be very useful.
Not present on non-Premium Mustangs.

My mistake on the 401a comment. For some reason I was thinking that was the premium package code.:doh:

One thing that gets me is why didn't Ford include the shift light for the PP guys without the Premium package? You would think this feature would be standard for them.

I've never noticed this. Perhaps a stock auto not being shifted manually doesn't reach an rpm high enough to trigger it? (Or perhaps I've never really gotten on it at night...)
