Well, After comparing this system to the premium system I had in my '14 It seems to lack and i'm not sure why as they're both Shaker systems. I do have my Kicker sub-woofers that are sitting in my garage from my old Cobalt. I'm thinking of putting an entire tweeter/speaker rework into the car as I love my audio no matter what.

I'd appreciate it greatly if someone who has done the upgrades let me know the sizes as i'm not that well versed in audio install so a buddy would help me.

Looking for door panel, tweeter, and rear speaker sizes. I don't have the 401A audio upgrade just base Premium audio.

Thanks guys!

The 401a is worse / quieter than the regular Shaker 500 that was standard on my premium 2011. Not sure why they felt the need for the sound to go backwards.

I'm glad to hear this, I thought I was potentially just going deaf. But it is a weird decision that's about the only thing I miss about my old '14 but I do plan to rectify it with my subs. Doing a little research I found a video from Kicker I think it was showing 6.5" speaker replacement.

The door panel and rear deck speakers are both 6.5". The stock tweeters measured out at 1 5/8" from edge to edge. I think the tweeters I replaced them with were slightly smaller.

I had a 2013 5.0 premium and the stock system was pretty good, got a 2014 lexus with the 10 speaker pioneer system and that blew anything I had out the water, then now this 2015 eco premium with a turd of a sound system! I see the mirrors shaking but I don't hear or feel the bass! Plus the mids are crap. I'm way too focused on making power now but I do want to upgrade this system asap!

Just chiming in that I concur the speakers in pretty much all trim/option levels suck haha.

I plan on changing out the speakers with some high quality high efficiency speakers to start, then go from there. I don't really want to go all out and spend $2000 on a sound system right away, considering I have my eyes on $3000 worth of wheels and tires right away. Right now the engine is entertaining enough to distract me from the lackluster stereo, for a little while anyway.
