Put in the AA spare today. It will not fit in the wheel well as they say. Install sheet says do not over inflate (it has only 35 psi) and lube the rubber if it will not insert into the well? Big disappointment for the price. Now my mat will not lay flat.
Funny as I’ve read many reviews of the AA spare. Some have fitment issues, many do not. Can’t figure that one out.

My mat lays flat. I remember the tire fits really snug though and I lubed the wheel well, not the tire. Keep trying and make sure you have the valve stem up. What size is your spare? Mine is 155/70/19.

The tire comes with sticky mold release compound (?) on it, a good cleaning with soap and water made mine easily slide into the trunk well. The mat lays flat

I am in the same boat! Tried to put the AA spare into my Mach 1 and it does not fit. Looks like left/right diameter of the tire is slightly bigger than the well inner diameter so it gets stuck and does not budge. I can push the front or back to the bottom, but the other side pops out 🙁.

My tire is 155/70 marked "Tri-Ace".

Which is the brand of your tire?

EDIT: Now noticing that you have 2019 GT and 2021 Mach 1. Does it fit in both?

I have a TRI-ACE from a few years back. I have a new one coming next Wednesday. I tried the spare in both cars and it fits. Either some cars are tight or the new spares are larger. I can report on how the new spare fits when I get it.

If have a 125/4070R19 tire on a steel rim from CZ.
It is a smaler diameter than the normal wheels.

I just checked the carpet cover and it fits correctly with the spare in my Mach 1. I had forgotten to check it before.

That is only 22.93 inches tall and the 275/40/19 rear tire on my cars GT PP1 and Mach 1 are 27.66 tall, therefore to match we need the 155/70/19 spare that is 27.54 tall to match.

If my new one doesn't fit, I will let the air out of it. There is no other choice. I always carry a 12 volt air compressor with me. Actually both cars came with one.

That is interesting. I have 2021 EU Mach, but I don't expect the EU version having a different spare well. I just tried to measure the total diameter of my spare and it is tad less than 70 cm (27.54"), which is the calculated size. So either your tire is smaller or my spare tire well is smaller 🙄.

The protruding tire lifts the boot floor by ~0.5".

This is an alternative. I tried to deflate it a bit, but it did not help. One probably really needs to deflate it more. But then I would be worried about the recommended pressure of 60 psi. Not sure any 12V air compressor can manage that.

Just chalk it up to manufacturing variances. If that 0.127cm really bothers you just take some air out of the tire. Either that get a sledgehammer. :giggle:

Typo, it is 125/70R19.
Had do put a hard foam piece underneath.

The smaler wheel is an adequate temporary solution.
It's just a matter of not having to rely on the tow truck, but being able to get to the nearest tire repair shop on your own.

The 18" emergency wheel at non-PP is also only a 155/60R18.

It bothers me, because it makes the floor unstable and uneven. Letting the air out of the tire kind of defeats the purpose, unless I am carrying an air compressor and some quite powerful one.

BTW: 0.5 in = 1.27 cm, but I am not sure why you are quoting me on that anyway.
