I am the ford guy but I also love corvettes. So lets say the gt350 with the "R" package is 75K. Is it faster than corvette? Corvette Stingray base price is 52K and that's including Brembo brakes and all the good stuff. Lets don't forget the new bold look. I'm just wonder if you going to throw 60K+ for the GT350 why not buy corvette? Plus give about 2 years and every 5th car on the road will be the stang..

:ford:
Yea, no. $55K, not $52K, to start,isn't even a Z51.

Why does that not sound like the typical flat plane crank? The extra cubes?
Ford mentioned that it is intentionally trying to make it sound like an "American V8," which obviously implies more like a CPC rather than FPC V8, which I think is a bit of a shame -- trading away some of the exotic/unique aural qualities of a FPC to sound more like any other lumpier "Murican V8, apparently to appeal/appease some subset of xenophobes or whatever in traditional Mustang ranks. Want a V8 Mustang to sound like any other lumpy American V8? Then get a Mustang with a regular lumpy American V8.

That said, it DOES sound fantastic on video and might be one of those sorts of motors where videos simply fail to capture the full sound nuances of this motor.

Of course, some aftermarket headers and exhaust will immediately increase and highlight the exotic aspect of the GT350's rare FPC layout and have it sound more like a '67 GT40 howling down the Mulsanne straight at 200+mph rather than Billy Bob revving out his old hopped-up glass-pack Stang in front of the local Dairy Queen.

I dont dig the glass pack stang sound at all but am I the only one that thinks this sounds like a pissed off 2-stroke!?

Reminds me of my bassboat out of water. I guess I am too old school.

One of the best sounding Mustangs that I ever heard was a worked over 93 Cobra with a 13:1 , 331 with a big cam. Still had tailpipes too. That thing POPPED so hard but it sounded mean as all hell!

PS, boy that throttle response/rev-ability that light flat-crank gives it!

That clip sounded great...I wonder what the GT350r sounds like with out the resonator from the inside the cab, the GT350 has a resonator, but the "R" does not.

I need to hit the lottery!!
The GT350 sounds very good but that GT 3.5 sounds pretty cammy for a v6.
Plus add the turbo whistle,,,,,,,great job Ford.

I typically don't like large spoiler, or wings, but the GT350R's wing is just growing on me every day. From the back, you can see the design and it lets you know you have a near supercar in front of you.
