I bought one of those big hand soap refills and forgot it in my trunk for a few days. Well with this Florida heat it must have just popped open...and went everywhere. It soaked into the trunk carpet and down into the spare wheel well.

Any suggestions for cleaning it out? Or has anyone removed the trunk liner and if so how hard was it?

I work at a dealership and noticed it on break, so I was at least able to hit it with a wet-vac, but there is still so much.

I guess on a positive note my car smells good...

I'd try cat litter. I used to work in a grocery store and anytime something soap-like would spill we would use cat litter to try and clean it up. It sounds stupid but you'd be surprised at how absorbent it is. it probably won't grab it all but I'd say its a good start

At work (retail) we have this stuff called "Spill Magic". It's a white cakey powder that is super absorbent. Can get a similar product on amazon called "magic monkey". Maybe if you leave it on there for a day or so, then scoop it up and vacuum up the rest, it would draw some of the stuff out.

On a side note, I'm in Deland too! I'm the yellow GT PP.

Take liner out and low pressure rinse and dry.
As for painted metal, I guess dry towel wipe as much as possible and then damp cloth.
Make sure dry completely.

I would probably attempt to do this

how is the liner attached to the metal?

Found out the other day that there are a couple of clips, but also some magnets that just pop back into place... pretty cool!
