I ordered up a complete set of American Racing Polished Torq Thrust II's (VN-515) 18x8 with a 40 offset. The sale mgr, installer assured me they would not rub against my calipers (GT, Non Brembo).

So I dropped the car off yesterday and got a call 2 hours later stating that the spokes rub against the calipers !!

So I've had 2 strikes this week. 1, My California Legacy plate "15 Pony" ended up being taken by a guy who ordered the standard white plate. Even though my order date is way before his, it doesn't count since the legacy plates were not in production. and second was the loss of the rims!!!

As for the plate... I've replaced it with the legacy plate 15 KYOTE

Did they check to see if a 3 or 5mm spacer would make them fit? Doesn't hurt to have that small of a spacer on the front. 40mm is pretty deep anyways, an 8" wheel can easily get away with 15 to 20mm for the fronts.

That's no fun man.. Sorry to hear. What are your new plans for the wheels?

Also I like the 15 KYOTE plates better anyways, shows more character, a lot of people have ponies, but not everyone has a Coyote :headbang:

I'm keeping the stock 18" rims for now. I think as wheel manufactures discover the bigger calipers, they will make new versions of the Torq Thrust Rims. And thanks for the thumbs up on the new plates.
