I can't shift a manual as many times as the computer does when moving through rapidly changing conditions. Can you manual guys keep the boost above 20 psi (when you need it) on a road course? The stock Sport+ does a decent job, although getting above 6000 happens too much for my taste.
Yep. If we flat foot shift.

2. Yep exactly the 289 came out the next year.

There was no 1964 mustang. There is one that some people call the 1964 1/2, but even those had 1965 VIN numbers. And the V8 was available as an option from the start as the F Code 260 ci V8, later replaced by the 289 V8.

1. What are people referring to when they reference a "tune.".

2. The 1964 Mustang was a 6, wasn't it? Wasn't that a real Mustnag?

3. How do you quote more than one post?
Right next to the quote button, there is a button that has "+ next to it. You hit that for all of the posts, then on the last one hit the quote button.

1. A tune is a reflash of the cars ECU modifying multiple parameters to optimize engine out put. They are very effective in factory turbo cars which are set up to be extremely safe.

...
What exactly is it that the "Sport +" and "Race" mode buttons are doing? Are they modifyin gtiming or anything? Do they make better power than the non-premium package makes?

Who's doing some of this tuning commercially that you guys are fond of?

Tuners:
Cobb
Bama
Livernois
Unleashed
Woodbine Motorsports

Just to name a few popular ones. Ford racing will also be coming out with their own warranty backed tune later this year

I've found the main difference between Sport/Sport+ on my premium is this.

Sport = transmission shifts differently, holds gears longer.
Sport+ = transmission shifts differently, holds gears longer, steering weight is set to "Sport", throttle response is improved a lot more.

I'm not sure if it's different, or what "Sport" on the base does.

True Mustang Enthsusiats won't argue the V8 vs. the 4cyl BS... :)

Some FYI for the younger generation that may not know:

The VERY FIRST Mustang, meaning the 1962 Mustang I, was built and was fully operational with a 1.5L 4cyl engine.

*Snip*
Two versions of the V4 engine were available, an 89 hp (66 kW) street and a 109 hp (81 kW) race engine.

The Mustang I made its formal debut at the United States Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, New York on October 7, 1962, where test driver and contemporary Formula One race driver Dan Gurney lapped the track in a demonstration using the second "race" prototype. His lap times were only slightly off the pace of the F1 race cars. Gurney was the second Race Car Driver to officially try this car.
So if everyone wants to really argue the power source of THE "1st Mustang".... There it is, fact.

A Mustang is still a Mustang regardless of what is powering it - the outer body shell and interiors on all were the same from the 60's to current model year regardless of what the car was born with as far as drivetrain.

Hi Guys,

before i bought My EB Premium. I test rode all 3 cars. v6 is good and i might have bought that if it had premium option.

Now EB was a surprise. Power, Control and mix of bot world and plus the premium version with all bells and whistels.

GT: Same ol lovely power , raw power , that growl.

BUt again all 3 are great? Y i went with EB. Its different engine and has ample power.

Gives me more scope to tune . I might not get the growl and raw power of v8 but i get something i was looking for best of both worlds

Today I got the urge to test drive the GT. Up until now I had resisted driving one because I was afraid it would ruin the EB for me. I drove a completely base Guard GT and was sort disappointed. I thought I would feel a bigger difference but it just wasn't there. Afterwards I grabbed the keys to a Comp Orange premium with Recaros and a PP. That car made a pretty good impression on just because I kept it in sport + the entire ride (If I win powerball this week I'll go back for it:cheers: ) So what's the point of all this? I think that the Ecoboost has the best mix of power and drivability. I was actually happy to get back in my car and leave the V-8 beasts behind. Soon I'll have my tune and bolt on bits and be well into GT territory with less weight and better economy. I for one embrace our turbochargerd overlords :ford:
I too test drove the eco boost and stock GT back to back as well. The eco boost was nice but would have needed a tune at least to appease my needs. Since I have no interest in screwing with my warranty it was the GT for me.

Remember the GT is 10mph faster than the ecobost stock vs stock :paddle:
