Small rock chip on the barrel of my PP wheels. Is ebony black close enough for touch up?

Like sfs550 said, I think any gloss should be okay. I guess some blacks may look grey in bright sun, but I really don't think it would be a huge difference in color as long as it is plain black.

But that being said, I had a microscopic chip on one of the fronts, I used my shadow black paint in it, and I can't see the chip in shade or in the sun, unless you take your eyeball like 5" away from the wheel.

Go to the drug store and buy black nail polish. It works great and is priced right.

FWIW I paint the fugly tape-on weights the tire shop uses with Testors gloss black and you have to be looking really closely to see them.
