So can people confirm chrome cast screen mirrors?

I am looking to invest into it if it can help the set-up with apps and such

Based on what I've read it will work for my galaxy note 5. Got home late last night, so I will try today when I get home.

It should have no problem with an iPhone correct?
I have a 6+ but just want some people to confirm it first :D

I already have it set-up with hdmi but this would be handy, even if I need to jailbreak my phone again it'll be worth it

I am into technology things but literally never touched one of these or even looked at them... Would the apps on the actual device work with the unit? Dumb question but just out of curiosity if you or someone knew

First you need the "Google cast" app
Install it then tether the Chromecast to your phone then set it up using the app, after that click the top left menu button then select "cast screen / audio" and that should do it.

Chromecast proven to work for wireless screen mirroring if you tether it to your phone.
So, create a wifi hotspot with phone, tether the Chromecast to it, and you can wirelessly mirror to the unit (as long as it's a Chromecast app on your phone)?

Would you post a video that shows this actually working?

This typically only works on jailbroken iPhones though. The issue is that one you tether, your phone wifi is taken over by the hot spot, and your phone is strictly using your cell data. The phone and Chromecast are on different networks, so the phone cannot cast to Chromecast. The work around is to either have a jailbroken iPhone, or a second device that are both connected to the hot spot.

I maybe incorrect on this, but every time I tried something similar it did not work.

I will post a video using my Dlink adaptor but one of my customers here confirmed it works.
Last question ;)

Did your customer use the older Chromecast or the newer one?

I can confirm Amazon Fire Stick for screen mirror, galaxy note 5. Sorry for the bad pic, couldn't get my iPad to focus... Decided against chromecast after reading some more, poorfortune is right about having to do work-a-round to connect with chromecast.
