They are LED's. They should not consume that much power being on anyway.

Yea, they can't be turned off because of DRL regulations.I just want them off if I'm sitting in a parking lot, not moving or driving.
Looks like I won't be able to realize this dream so I'll let it go.
That doesn't answer my question as to why in some markets the daytime running lights will never be on.Because... in new times... DRLs are becoming more like a norm.... There is no stringent law... as of now... but yes companies are encouraged to put DRLs in cars... look at any model .. all have DRLS now
