Shine em' up, shine em' up
I shined it up! I’ve done my friends car a few times. The guy and his wife really take great care of it. It’s easy to make an already clean car pop. I used PolishAngel High Gloss for the last step. They did the car with me. They have since bought a Rupes Machine, pads and all products we used. Now the’re excited about polishing the car themselves. It’s a good time working with enthusiastic
passionate motivated people.

The Jaguar F-Type is a dream car for me, I have driven a few now in all powertrains, of course the Supercharged V8 is sublime and would be my pic.........................funds permitting.

A few more shots of the car. We’ve gone to a few car events together and it draws lots of attention. The style and color of the car make it stand out. Quit a few people asked what kind of car it is. I got a few detailing jobs when people asked my friend who detailed it. Funny thing is, the paint has minimum orange peel, the color screams in the sun and it’s one of easiest cars I’ve polished.

Here’s my “Miss Maggie”. She is a Daily Driver so won’t be put away for the winter months. Hopefully she will be more of a show pony in the next two years as I’ll get another vehicle for my daily driver and my DIY P-51D Mustang Tribute Car can be finished and driven sparingly.

I can't believe people don't know what sort of car that is! One of the most beautiful cars to ever exist.

Same.

My spec would be the pre-facelift coupe, the R with AWD...........in red, naturally.

My experience driving F-Types has been on the racetrack. I started with the 4-cyclinder, stepped up to the V6 and then the Supercharged V8 in that order. The 4 and 6 have the better agility, but it's hard to argue with a supercharged V8 with over 500hp and AWD for confidence.

The V8 in that car is the best engine I have ever experienced, bar none! It just pulls and pulls to the most intoxicating soundtrack. 🤤

My laps driving were then backed up by a balls to the wall lap with a pro-driver at the wheel, OMG what a ride!

Sighhhhh. Why is my chosen hobby so expensive. :frown:

@DFB5.0 Thanks for the recommendation and detailed explanation. Can both be applied by hand? I have a Griot's G9 but for quick detail i go by hand.

For sure i will give that combination a try and give feedback.
@DFB5.0 i have received the products (Wax and Sealant) so i will be playing on the weekend. Just to be sure in the order as i understand Correction or polish, then Sealant, let it cure 24hrs and then apply the Wax.

Am i correct?

Thanks once again.

The process would be the following -

- Wash and Decontaminate (Iron remover and/or a clay bar/towel)
- Dry
- Polish
- IPA wipe down (You can mix your own at 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and water, I prefer to use Carpro Eraser or Gyeon Prep.)
-Apply the Sealant
-Apply the Wax*

*Ideally, you would use one or the other, as in either the wax or the sealant. Both are fantastic and don't need to be used in combination. If you do want to do it that way, use the sealant first then the wax. Wolfgang DGPS needs 12 hours to cure though before it sees water or another liquid (wax).

It is actually neither. It is a ground-up recreation. The frame was built to the original dimensions. The body is aluminum and pretty much everything else will swap with an original Cobra. It took about 8 years from start to finish. My only concessions to originality are upgraded brakes and Tremec TKO600

5 speed.
That's really NICE.... For those who follow the Shelby Cobras whether genuine or kit - I immediately noticed the rims and knew at that point it wasn't just another cookie-cutter Cobra... I mean, the attention to detail is spot on...:clap::clap:

How/where did you source the all aluminum body shell? Was it from Kirkham?
Here's the link for others who don't know who Kirkham is... https://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/

eye of the beholder my man! tbh his first post was just a side front shot and I don't keep up that well with higher end Euro performance cars, guess I should.
