Thanks for the pics Big G - looks great :) Now I just need to see a DIB GT with custom pack and I'll finally have a clear idea of what to expect.

LOL - fantastic when clean. Bit like white then ;)

I know the colour is on other Fords, but there's no substiture for seeing on the car. The body lines/curves tend to accentuate different features (rear wings case in point)
Oh absolutely, but I went for white in the end as DIB turned out to be a different shade than I thought (had it confused with Spirit Blue which is a lot more purpley) and so I could have the Martini stripes. :D Then I started to notice how many Transit vans and other Fords are driving around wearing DIB & it totally took the shine off it for me.

Not to say it doesn't look awesome on the Mustang, but for me the colour either has to a bit out of the ordinary if you're relying on it to wow (TY or CO), or be a fantastic colour on it's own (Guard/Black).

I decided agaisnt TY as I couldn't be arsed with the Bumblebee comments, just hope I don't have to continually keep answering questions about whether it's an Audi or a BMW now!

My last Mustang was black (with black stripes) so I wanted something that didn't need keeping perfectly clean to look good.

Like you, I prefer the Spirit Blue - it's a shame they don't make it an option on the Mustang :( Later editions perhaps?

Ruby was on the consideration list, but metallic reds in the UK tend to look either brilliant or aweful depending on sunlight. Given we barely get any, I decided against.

Magnetic with black roof, wheels and having now seen them, black faded stripes would be epic. However, with thousands of silver/dark silver cars on the road already I decided against it.

Which brings me back to blue. All my performance cars (with the exception of the Mustang) have been blue. My wife's race car is also blue - so that's what I went with.

I'm not keen on white stripes on blue, let alone faded silver! I don't think black will work either, but until I've seen first hand, who knows?

As I'd spec'd the custom pack, I decided to go for more of an upmaket GT look than something 'street' (like the magnetic with black wheels etc.)

Anyway, I'm rambling. Sorry for the thread hijack!

I wanted a more race/motorpsort thing anyway so DIB wasn't ideal. Suits the upmarket image more than racecar.

As for stripes, black can look ok on DIB:

I saw your Mustang on the A19 this morning. I was waiting at the other set of lights on the Doxford Roundabout and it caught my eye instantly. Its stunning in person, the back especially with its wide hips. It definitely has presence on out in the wild.

Oh, and, if you saw a mad-man in a white Hatchback behind you before the Hylton Flyover giving thumbs up, that was me. I recognized the plate and thought I'd go say hi. :D :headbang:

I thought that was your white Kia, couldn't quite see you though so I wasn't sure.

Yeah, my car is bizarrely difficult to see into. The windows glare up something chronic.

So, quick Q. How's the Pony in rush hour traffic?

Very well behaved, I've managed to keep the average above 25mpg at the minute.
