The GT350 is a better car overall. You cant upgrade to a wider track with changing out wheels etc...The magnetic suspension can't be added later and the GT350 has plenty of power for the street, strip or track. You are rarely going to need 526hp let alone over 700.

Yeah, knock about $4k off the msrp for a GT Premium track pack and that's what you will be paying. The GT350's will probably be getting about MSRP once the new launch madness wears off.

Ford has already said they will build as many as they can sell so I doubt they will continue to demand a premium over MSRP in the future.
Can you please direct us to the source of this quote that they will build as many as they can sell?

You will be able to get a GT350 at MSRP at this time next year. People are already getting MSRP deals now.
Probably true. You'll still have to wait 4 months minimum for delivery. Which would put you towards Winter in most of the country when you pick it up.

However, my guess is that since MagneRide and Active Exhaust will be available on the 2016 Camaro, that Ford will have to up the ante in 2017 and either have that available on a GT or Mach 1 model.

If you're going to pay someone like Chip Foose, for $15-20k you'll get a set of wheels, custom paint, and new seat covers. That's about it. The GT350 is a fully engineered car from the beginning.

On the other hand, you can get a premium GT with PP for far less than $42k. My local dealer has them going for $35-37k.
If I get a GTPP, it will be fairly loaded w/o the ACC, so even at invoice, it's about $40-$41K.

In California, Chip Foose is the epitome of "California Cool." Timeless, classic stuff.

I personally don't like Foose styling. I'm not saying he's not a talented guy and he does do quality work, and I'm sure he has his fans. I just don't like what he does to old classic cars. If one of my family members took my old classic Mustang and had them Foose it on Overhaulin' I'd disown them.

Well, different strokes for different folks. I have very specific ideas that I'd want Chip to incorporate so it wouldn't be a surprise. For example on the MMD car he did, I do not like the hood scoop, fender scoop or the window louvers. If it ain't functional, it won't go on the car. I do like his paint selections by BASF, but I have a particular preference that's not one of his colors....yet.

The argument of the false dilemma?

Help me make a decision folks:

Buy a Shelby GT350 with Tech Pack for $57K or a Mustang GT PP for $42K and spend $15-$20K to have it customized by a known designer like Chip Foose, including forced induction. Thanks.
The 2015 Mustang GT with PP is more like $36k plus tax, that's what I paid on 5/01/2015. How are you at $42K?

I'm a fan of Foose, but definitely agree he's done some gaudy stuff to classics. Two tone paint jobs just don't belong on a Mustang IMO.

GT Premium, PP, Recaros, 401A, Nav, Security Pkg, Premier Trim, etc.

/\ This. Actually look at dealer inventory. Fully loaded GT premium coupes are going for less than $40k.

I have a 15GTPP car with Roush blower lowered an inch with a bunch of other mods. Have an R on order and will let the 15 go this fall. I like the car I have now, But! the 350 is a whole nother animal. That motor is capable of 700hp with just a few mods. I cant weight to get one and playing with that motor.

But that being said I just use these cars for play, for an everyday driver the GTPP is a wonderful car.

Could you build a GT that would be as quick as a Shelby (maybe for less than the cost of the Shelby? Sure. Easily.

But everywhere you turn up, you'll just be the guy with another modified Mustang and the guy over there with the Shelby will be getting all of the attention.

If you are talking about the Coyote engine, I agree. If you are talking about the Voodoo engine, we have no idea. For all we know the lightweight rods and pistons won't be able to handle boost.

IMHO, a factory racer such as the GT350 has no comparison to modded GT. the 350 comes from performance specialists tailored to do nothing but run fast. The GT modded would need a heckuva lot of modding to make it to the level of the 350 and then you have to rely on the modder's capabilities to make that work.

Then there's resale... We all know you don't get out of mods what you put into them, but that 350 will hold its value better and more people will like a 350 than a modded GT.
