Threw an exhaust on my wife's daily, figured I'd share here too.

It's a 2016 Q5 3.0T

It's basically an SQ5 in sheep's clothing.

The engines are 100% identical with the normal Q5 just having a different tune. (Audi added an electronic bypass to the TVS blower so they can electronically control boost in different applications).

Our Q5 has the sport package so it has the SQ5 seats and paddle shifters. The only actual difference is our car has 345mm front rotors with 4 pot Brembos and the SQ5 has 380mm front rotors with single piston floating calipers. Other than that the only differences in the cars are on the exterior and cosmetic.

As far as power goes, the Q5 3.0T makes 272hp stock (SQ5 is 354hp).

Ours should be somewhere around 415 at the motor though.

I'd love to answer any questions!

Be honest... is your wife into cars or is the modding more for you? :sunglasses:

I'm 100% responsible for the mods which is why the exhaust had to be reasonable.

That being said she told me she likes the power and whatever we get her next has to be as fast or faster lol.

She had a 2016 Forester and it was just mind numbing. I always end up driving when we run errands, take our dogs places, drive to the mountains, etc and we take her car for all that so I've wanted to sell that stupid thing since before we were married lol. She liked it but would complain about how it felt gutless and had no passing power.

She finally agreed to get rid of it so we went and test drove all the German performance SUV's in our price range (X3 35i, X5 35i/50i, Q5/SQ5, GLE450) and she liked the Audi the best.

So at the end of the day she gets a comfortable luxury car and I get a sleeper crossover that doesn't make we want to drive off a cliff.

Hey, that's a plan right there. 2 fast vehicles in the stable is more than most. Unfortunately for me, Jeeps and Honda suvs aren't fast lol. For right now, the Mustang is it for fast. I'm hoping to change that down the road.

be careful grasshopper. This becomes expensive really fast. Me and my wife have a 15 5.0 I am currently looking for a 05-09 convertible GT for her for our anniversary. She too wants to go fast. She loves the S197 body style in a convertible. I am on the hook for building it when I find her one. That's the only way I can mod the 15

Heh, she doesn't like driving cars and prefers sitting up higher.

In a few years once we get bored of the Audi we might be looking at something like a GLC63 or a B9 SQ5.

Hey my wife's Jeep takes offense to that. People always say I call it her car so I can get away with having a second fun vehicle and that I just disguised my new toy as her birthday present.

I'm talking about the old 4.0 I6 lol. When the Pentastar 3.6 came out, that was the start of a Jeep having at least a little pick up. You own an SRT, that's next level stuff lol.

Its a little different than the wranglers that for sure. The 4.0 is a dog in terms of speed but man that thing is reliable as hell. My buddy has a 06 Rubicon Unlimited and hes in the processing of swapping his 4.0 out for the Coyote. Hes prepping the motor and everything to go in this summer. We got it running on a pallet separate but he pulled it apart to give it a refresh while its out. 160k mi F150 motor. I converted him to the dark side but he still wants to offroad so he can get the best of both worlds this way.

The Coyote is the best of both worlds in that Jeep. Reliability and power(better gas mileage too probably). I've wanted to put a Coyote or LS in the old Cherokee, but I don't know how to weld so I was figuring it would cost too much. I'd love to see pictures of progress or the whole thing after it's finished. He will have a head turner for sure.

Nice car! You should go dual pully, and then you will experience even more power.
3.0 v6 superchaged motor is great! Also very reliable. These cars are crazy fast, can go below 3 sec 0 to 60...

He got the motor for 1000$ and picked up a 6r80 and f150 transfer case for another 1000$ itll be about 7500$ after its all said and done and its been a project for a about a year now hes just waiting for me to get time off so I can head up to his house and we can hopefully just go at it for a week. We already fabbed up motor mounts so it should be pretty drop in at this point. We have my 2014 mustang instrument cluster which we are gonna retrofit and have the harness and ecu as well so hopefully it goes smoothly. There is only 2 other coyote swapped wranglers we have found so it has been alot of research and measuring to see if it'll work. Thankfully I had a F150 so we could use the exact measurements to see how everything will fit and my god it will be very tight. Ill put up some pictures when I can get some from him. Oh also yes better gas mileage he gets like 12 mpg right now so can't get much worse.

Been a while since I updated this.

It's got an RS grille, single pulley swap, and new brakes now.

(The brakes are a little different color here because I photoshopped them to see what they'd look like prior to having them powder coated)
