South Louisiana:

Kraemer Road (Vacherie, LA) Long twisty road through swamps and pastures.
Bayou Sale Rd. (Cocodrie, La) Long twisty through marsh lands

Unfortunately, it's easy to build straight roads here, so we don't get many good ones.

No matter where I go it's always straight roads... :frusty:

JMK, I have buddies in Chicago that come down to East TN every October to drive these mountain roads. You should come down this year.

Its not scary. That Hwy 64/28 on the way to Highlands, NC. There is one place on that road that is barely wide enough for 2 cars. Straight up vertical cliff on one side and 200' drop on the other side with nothing but a guard rail to keep you from going over.

In southern California my favorite is Highway 74 (Ortega Highway) connecting Orange County to Lake Elsinore. Palomar Mountain is always popular, but it is tough on the weekends with the motorcycle crowd. The list is endless out there though. My commute to work would have had most people drooling.
