I purchased my car with a shaker sound system, so it says at the head of the console, however the entire bass enclosure is missing in the trunk. I haven’t pulled back the truck liner to see what’s there yet. What should I see when I do open it up? Should there be an amp mounted there, wiring, etc.? Just looking at the passenger side of the trunk there’s no wiring hanging out and it looks very similar the drivers side.
I do have 2 speakers on the doors, 2 at the front window pillars and 2 in the back shelf. Maybe it’s really not a Shaker system.

Thanks for any help. Internet doesn’t help much.

You have a 'premium' car because you have a touch screen instead of the base 90s calculator pad lol.

With the premium cars there are different levels. The base premium has 9 speakers which is what it looks like you have and then there is the 12 speaker option/401A package that is fully loaded with all the goodies.

Look at your window sticker to confirm, but I don't think you have the 12, it looks likely that you have the 9 speaker setup in your car.

Edit: the 12 speaker configuration is the one with the trunk booty sub woofer. 9 speaker will not have the trunk sub woofer.

There was a window sticker and it says 400A options and it actually says Premium sound system.

Now I need to figure out how to get a bass speaker in the system because right now there’s not any.

You do not have the trunk mounted sound system.
400A is the 9 speaker system.
401A is the 12 speaker system with the trunk sub woofer.

You do have a premium sound system as the base cars 300A/301A get 6 speakers that don't sound that great. The Shaker audio 9 speaker in the 400A is fine but 401A with 12 is next level. I have the 12 speaker setup in my car and it is awesome.

Here is a dealer brochure link our our gen cars to help figure out your trim level and exact options.

If you want some great sound quality, just go aftermarket and there are a ton of options out there.

I can only speak to the 2020 models, but the 12 speaker system was optional even for a GT Premium with the 401A interior.

It's hard to recommend a factory sub especially for a car that didn't come with one.
For starters, the wiring and DSP won't be there for it and adding it for a factory sub is a pain that imo isn't worth it.
If you want a factory style box (and I can totally see why people do) Skar Audio has them for a 10" and 12" sub. Adding the wiring and amp for it is probably easier than trying to upgrade to a factory setup

This guy is correct. My buddy and I have both GT Premium/Mach 1 and his has the 9 speaker config with no booty sub and mine has the 12 with the booty sub.

I appreciate the confirmation but I have to say that I’m doing ok just listening to the exhaust. That track doesn’t get old.
