Hi I am new to the forum so if this is in the wrong spot my apologies.

I own a 2013 Mustang gt 5.0 w/ coyote engine. Lately when I accelerate hard to get into traffic, the car revs slightly harder then usual but then goes back down to the correct RPMs after a few seconds. It will not stay in cruise control when it has to accelerate. It doesn't turn off cruise, just turns off the automatic part (goes from green to yellow). No check engine lights. No loose pulleys. Slight rubber burning smell occasionally when I accelerate hard. No squealing from the engine/belt. I am thinking it is the serpentine belt because about a month ago my AC compressor seized up. They are on separate belts but I think it may have cause some small damage to the serpentine belt when it went out. What do you guys think?

Is this a manual? Sounds like clutch slippage.
It is a manual, but I had the clutch replaced last year. Possible the mechanic was bad. Burning rubber for the clutch though?

A slipping belt would not cause an RPM surge when you accelerate.

You have classic clutch slippage symptoms. And a slipping clutch smells.

Damn thats annoying. I guess the mechanic I had install the new clutch jacked it up. I will have to go back and talk with him.
