I was disappointed to see my new car doesn’t appear to do the cool sequential thing on the rear indicators. I found a couple of very lengthy threads but I’m at work and can’t go through them til later. What’s the short version please? Can it be easily modded without emptying my already barren wallet?
Cheers

Sorry, more money is required there are a few options :-

1. https://j-w-racing.co.uk/section.php/5059/1/exotic_pony_mods
2. There is a guy called Adam Price based in Essex who does a conversion.
3. I think Michael Scott in Leyland also does a conversion.

Cheers, Peter

That was quick, thanks lads! Do you all have it fitted? Seems a lot of dough but it looks cool AF. Easy to fit?

The Exotic Pony P&P sequencers are dead easy to fit - once you've got your sub out of the way. Worth noting that this gives you a red-red-amber indicator. Very cool looking though.

I've got DD front tribars and a custom rear setup, however, the EPM red/amber setup is the easiest for the rears now. (linked above)

They both require work to fit, you've got the following people I know who've done installs

Usman (@V8_MOTOR ) - has a guide for you to DIY the fronts, or you go to him with the boards and he'll do it within a few hours.
Mustang custom services - Mike Scott in leyland (Exchange basis - using another persons front lights)
AP Mustang - Adam price in Essex (Exchange or can do it to your lights if you wish to keep vin coding matching).

For the rears there's also the option of the plug and play solution by EPM, this makes you indicate RED/RED/Amber, it's illegal, it works, but i wouldn't recommend it, i was personally thrown off by it following @Gibbo205 when he was cruising with me, so wouldn't recommend the Plug and play solution and would go for EPMs full kit, albeit more expensive, but it's more professional looking, but again, more intrusive so it's strokes for folks and all that.

With any setup for the rears, make sure that there is the ability with the install to TURN OFF the sequential indicators as these are ILLEGAL AND WILL NOT PASS MOT INSPECTIONS (Due to 3 flashing lights).

Below are some videos of mine.

If you do come to Howden on Saturday you can check out the cheaper EPM that I have on mine.
These are a relatively cheap and very easy fit option. They’re not quite sequential but they trick the eyes into thinking they are. They're also reversible where other much more expensive options aren’t. They have various modes of operation and you can switch them off from the drivers seat. Some early versions were buggy sometimes not functioning correctly. I have a set of those early ones somewhere which were replaced I’ll bring them to Howden

Other options involve cutting into the lights. They are more effective but more expensive and as I said permanent. And I’m not on commission so it’s a balanced view.

Thanks for all the replies lads, much obliged. I didn’t realise they were illegal and tbh I’d only be bothered about having it if it was all amber. Think I’ll pass on this mod

Anyone that can't figure out what is meant by three sequentially flashing lights including an amber on one side of a vehicle is a danger in my book. Just saying...
When I had mine fitted my biggest concern (other than them being the early version which failed and left me without brake lights) was how insurers would view them. The illegality was secondary!

FWIW if you do want the full shebang, the Exotic Pony Mods "3A3R" (3 amber, 3 red) set is a really impressive piece of kit, loads of R&D has gone in to it, and the demo videos speaks for itself - worth a watch. Including the compulsory shop install, it's pricey, but i wouldn't say it's over the top. Very much one of those "nice to have" mods IMO. Super cool, but you're never gunna see it are ya!

I plan to do this with a set of red USA OEM taillights at some point. It's on the list

Lol, stupid law for MOT's but it's true :(!

@OP - kristian is right about the 3a3r that I mentioned before, it's the only "true" way of doing it with the ambers etc.... which is what I've got (Howeveer not the EPM variant it's a custom variant)

Gonna have an interesting time with this. Had sequentials for almost 3 years, but as far as i'm aware, have no way of going back to standard. Mot is a month away. Need to get it sorted :cwl:
