  1. Got a proper fright today

Yep. Without trying to sound too windswept and interesting, I’m glad it happened to me. I’ve thought about it a fair bit since it happened. I came close, very close to disaster, and I also came close to inflicting it on my girlfriend who was in the passenger seat. My whole approach to...
  2. Got a proper fright today

On a B-road of crests and dips, I suddenly found myself in a situation of driving too fast, too far outside my ability and with a previously unseen car coming the other way. I felt momentarily out of control and my car seemed to pitch and yaw, and I had a deep, primal sense that I was on the...
  3. Car Magazine letter

I’m sorry to hear that. I lost my mother very recently, my thoughts are with you whoever you’ve lost.
  4. Scottish Road Trip

I did it this time last year in my Cayman. I was still starry-eyed about the car but my driving skills weren’t up to much then (not that they are now). I think that road would be fantastic in any car.
  5. Car Magazine letter

My First World bleating made it into Car’s hallowed pages.
  6. Scottish Road Trip

Pulled over in a tiny place (Dufftown I think), went into the Co-Op and when I got to the tills, both staff and a couple of locals were outside gathered around the car. I guess a Mustang is a pretty rare sight up here. They were all very complimentary.
  7. Scottish Road Trip

Hi folks Few pics from my blast along the A93/A939 Old Military Road across the Cairngorms this morning. Probably my favourite route in the UK. Cheers
  8. Not much cop in the snow...

Mine has Michelin Pilots, not P-Zeroes
  9. Do you drive in Track with the traction turned off?

Interesting. What’s the effect on the handling in Track but with TC still on?
  10. Do you drive in Track with the traction turned off?

I’d be interested to know how many. How much more tail happy does the tail get? Cheers
  11. Not much cop in the snow...

Trigger slid pitifully in the work car park in .5cm of freshly laid snow and came slowly to rest against a kerb. I’ve suffered genuine separation anxiety since then and the time I liberated him this morning. I’ve also suffered no end of mirth from colleagues too, but that’s fair play I reckon.
  12. Other drivers and Mustangs

I’ve only encountered two RS drivers and they both conformed to my prejudiced expectations :) In an ideal world I’d love both. I think the RS is fab, but then I’d also really like a Fiesta ST.
  13. Other drivers and Mustangs

I mainly get thumbs-ups from other Ford drivers. Except those in RS Focuses (Focii)? They hate Mustangs.
  14. Other drivers and Mustangs

In the short time I’ve had the GT, I’ve observed three distinct classes of other drivers who pay it any attention. The vast majority are those who smile and give a thumbs-up. People seem to like Mustangs by default. Then there are children in small hatchbacks who metaphorically snap at my...
  15. Think I may need an H-Pipe

Hi folks Forum is excruciatingly slow tonight and I’ve been unable to search. I saw an American video featuring an H Pipe fitted to an 18 GT and it sounded fantastic. Are these legal in the UK? Can you hear the difference from inside the car? Finally, if you have one fitted, what make is it...
  16. Finally run-in. Wow

What colour is your car? Yesterday I saw a blue one in Lanchester and a Magnetic in Newcastle
  17. Finally run-in. Wow

Thanks a lot. Pretty sure it has Michelin tyres though..
  18. Finally run-in. Wow

I celebrated reaching 1000 miles by taking the car up to Alston from the A69. I’m sure plenty of you know the road. Extending the engine - finally - is such a rush. The noise the car makes, the ridiculous speed, the whole feel of it. It’s a bit scary to a newbie like me; it demands a lot more...
  19. The UK S550 "spotted" thread

Two in one day! Another Magnetic on the road next to the Town Moor in Newcastle, and a Pale Blue in Lanchester, Co Durham. Both looking great.
  20. Track mode with traction control?

Don’t worry mate - got it. Thank you
