Isn't everybody looking for this?

Let me know if I'm being stupid, but isn't anyone on this forum either looking for a GT350 for themselves, or they already have one? And if they already have one, why would they still be looking? Lol. Sorry, this just seems like a very ignorant thread topic.
Obviously you don't know shelby_r.

I think the ridiculousness is mainly from the person wanting MSRP in the Bay Area, CA when most, if not all CA residents have had to go out of state for such a deal. Shelby_R is the man though for finding good deals!

The only ignorance so far has been in some of the responses.

I don't know about you, but I have a great relationship with the stores (dealerships) I typically buy from. I often stop in just to shoot the breeze with my sales guy or the GM. They host a lot of client appreciation events and so I see them quite a few times every year even when I'm not buying or having service done.

While there, I pick up on tips about incoming inventory, factory changes, shipping delays and so forth. Whenever possible, I share that with friends in the automotive enthusiast community - and my friends do the same for me and others.

Now, if you think people who know tidbits of information and share it with their friends are ignorant .... well, not sure what that says about you. :tsk:
What it says about me is that I have A/Z plan, got an under MSRP deal, and I feel bad for people who put in so much work and naively troll forums for a deal instead of capitalizing upon their own said merits :)

There are often people leaving deals or finding out about new allocations. No harm in mentioning interest in case someone finds something.

I agree that all anyone can say is "no", but I just found it interesting that this is this year's Tickle Me Elmo and people are asking for deals, when there's countless threads about people suffering over their own ADM payments, because that is what the car is worth to them.

Just saying, it is possible to get what you are looking for, so you shouldn't be discouraged, and that you should be following up on your advantages with dealers and salesman if it's worked for you before. And, it's my A plan, not my family's. Friends don't qualify for that plan.

GT350's are not available on the A/Z plans (whichever is the one for retired employees) as they are a specialty vehicle and specifically excluded (as were Boss's and GTs). I tried that early on (I am eligible for retired employee plan) and called corporate to complain, but to no avail. But I did get a confirmed R allocation at $5K over. Now just waiting and waiting......:frusty: :headbang:

But that's the point! Not everybody HAS this great relationship with a Ford dealer. Many can't find this car at little to no ADM because they don't have hours upon hours to search the internet for one.

The only way to find an MSRP deal is to take a day, pick which regions you are comfortable obtaining a car from, Google dealership numbers and get to calling. It requires some work... But hey, all you gotta do is find one deal, right?

Shelby_r has put in a lot of time to find a lot of deals and has been good enough to post those... I'm sure his finds came through fine detective work. He is not the only person that can do this.

Yep. If you have the time and inclination, you can do it. That's how I found the R in AZ that I had to let go.

When I last spoke to my sales guy Downtown Ford in Canton Oh had an allocation unspoken for at msrp. Talk to Scott H
Talked to Scott this morning. They had an allocation, but no buyer and had to place the order so they picked AG which (no offense to any owners) is my least favorite color.

Sticker will be $58,345 and I believe he said they ordered the tech pack.

That's good for anyone looking for tech pack at msrp! AG is the 2nd most popular color next to white with blue stripes.

Wow, really? :eyebulge:

Just anecdotally reading the orders in this forum so far, I had pegged White > RR > TY/DIB to be the top three.
