Anyone missing second gear more then once? stomp on it first, go into second and i here a scraping sound vibration in the gear shifter, like a grinding or scraping sound, almost as if i didn't have my foot pressed all the way down to the floor. I noticed going from first to second can be notchy at times. I don't have any other issue out of any other gear.

Im thinking about changing shifters or taking it back to the dealer but i already have a tune. But the tune shouldn't effect my transmission warrenty right?

I'd take it back as stock as possible to not give the dealer any excuses.

Went out there today playing around with it using launch control which in my opinion is a great feature (especially with a wider tire on the rear) and i missed second again. Trying to shift as fast as possible i think i might've shifted into second before the clutch was pressed to the floor i think. Did a couple more runs and didn't happen for the rest of the day. Im praying to god i didn't mess up anything. Car still drives the same, no weird nosies or weird vibrations in the tranny so I'm hoping praying everything is still good. car has almost 4000 miles on it

The stock shifter is junk. I replaced mine with the MGW unit and the difference is quite significant.

After seeing the stock shifter and having it apart in my hands I'm not surprised when people report having issues with 2nd, 3rd, or any other gear. So much slop in the design.

The engagement teeth on the MT82 2nd gear and 2nd gear side of the synchronizer are very small and unforgiving. If you miss a shift more than a few times, you're going to ruin both parts and require a rebuild. Its important that you address the shifter issues with a better unit such as the MGW and I would even suggest a transmission mount insert for your vehicle as well.

Watch the MGW shifter install. They make note of how there's so much deflection in the stock shifter that when putting the transmission into first or second the shifter pushes up against the side of the gear box & if not aligned properly can create lockout because the deflection is allowing the shifter to go past the first & second alignment slightly. They talk about how pushing too hard in the direction of the driver seat while going into first & second is something a lot of people do naturally while shifting aggressively & can cause this. I haven't looked into the Barton shifter much but the MGW has a few different features that help improve the slop of the stock shifter & trans assembly. I'll be going with MGW soon.
